Snicko, Hot Spot & Conflicting Tech

6 min read•0/19 sections

What happens when the technologies disagree.

Snicko () detects sound ; Hot Spot detects friction heat. Together they confirm edges, but they can disagree on glove or flap contact.

ICC protocols rank evidence: a clear visible deflection trumps audio; audio plus visible spike trumps an isolated audio spike.

Even with all the tech, ~3% of edges remain truly unresolvable — umpire's call carries.
