Boundary Catching & Relays

6 min read•1/19 sections

Six-saves and the choreography of two fielders.

Modern relay catching — palming the ball back inside the rope, then completing the catch on the second touch — has redefined fielding (Suryakumar Yadav, Trent Boult in BBL/).

The second fielder must read the first's body shape early; communication is binary (yours / mine).

Practice with a 'fence drill' — soft-net with two fielders alternating roles.
